How to dispose of Automotive Waste

The way that you can arrange of auto waste, changes from one location to the other. This is dependent on laws in your area. Read the product labels and following their disposal suggestions. Call your local or state environmental security department. They will have your area's disposal requirements.

Usually you are allowed to dilute a small amount of antifreeze, windshield wiper fluid, or coolant with water and then letting it go down the drain. Do not do this if you have a large amount of these items, or if you have a septic tank. You will need to recycle and treat them as dangerous waste.

Autozone Batteries

Automotive shops such as Advance, Auto-zone, and Pep Boys, will allow you to take in used motor oil. Also, most oil change shops will accept used oil as well. They will recycle it for you. Auto shops that sell batteries, will ordinarily accept your old batteries. If you have uncontaminated gas, store it in a extra package that is made for gas, and use it in your lawnmower or other garden equipment as soon as possible.

Recharging The A/c System CAUTION: The high side of the A/C system is under considerable pressure. If a can of refrigerant is connected to the high side service fitting, it may explode! Hey, for those who wondered about the gauge setup..... I got them from Equus. You can probably find them at Autozone, Advance, or O'Reilly auto parts. As you know, the standard gauges in the stock Firebird suck. The big one on the right has the oil pressure, water temp, and "Generator" power. Well, since I wanted an RPM guage, I found one that fit perfect in that hole. I used Urethane to hold it in place. The Speedo Gauge was easy to find and fit well also. You may have to cut some of the speedo cable end off in order to fit on the back of the guage. It is the screw-in type, and the Firebird had the clip on style. I bought a complete set for the other guages... Oil, Water, and Battery. I installed them into some 1/4 board material and covered with black leather to match interior. It fit where the old A/C controls were and since I removed the A/C there was no need for the controls. I installed a toggle switch in the dash where the cigarette lighter was that operates the blower fan for a heater. That way I still have defrost. If it gets hot in there, you can buy a valve to put on the heater hoses for use during the summer. It gets hot in the car with all that hot water running through the heater core. Interior Specs: All windows except front have been tinted 20%, new black carpet, headliner, front/rear door panels, dashpad, Carbon Fiber Leather seats, All new after-market dash gauges, Hurst Ratchet shifter, Kenwood 5032 CD player with Sirius/XM Satellite radio, and DUB ...

This how to ground your amplifier for your car audio system. I have shots of proper and improper grounds, all wiring is 4AWG. To supplement the ground wire that is included with most car audio wiring kits, I am also using 1 - 20" 4AWG and 2 - 40" 4AWG from AutoZone/Advance/O'Rielly. They have eyelits stamped in them so they are good to go right out of the box. It was about for all three and makes a world of difference. No more headlight dimming and the bass is now harder hitting and much louder, also the battery gauge barely moves at all.

I went to Autozone today to order an oil pressure sending unit for the oil pressure gauge I'd installed in my car, and also a new bulb for the voltmeter gauge which I also installed, both in my new dual gauge pod which I installed on my window pillar. I wasn't really happy with the way the gauges I installed looked. My oil pressure gauge had a small crack in the glass face, and the face on my voltmeter looked like it had some moisture damage as the numbers on the face were faded and were hard to read and it was even more obvious when the lights in the gauges were on. I decided to see if they Autozone had any inexpensive 2 1/16 inch gauges that I could use to replace the ones I had just installed. I found these totally awsome Sunpro Sport ST gauges on display for $ 39.99 each and decided to give them a try. They actually cost more than I had planned to spend but they looked so good that I figured what the hell, you only live once ! And besides, the quality on these gauges was phenomenal, definitely making them worth the extra money ! I got the voltmeter gauge and the oil pressure gauge, which incidentally comes packaged with an electric oil pressure sending unit, so that took care of my problem of having to order the sending unit separately from autozone. I installed them right in the Autozone parking lot, all I had to do was pull out my old gauges, disconnect the wiring, then reconnect the wiring to my new gauges and slide them in place of the old ones. 1982 Nighthawk 450 that my buddy and I are building. It's been going really slow so far, but we finally got it running again. It still needs some work, so this video isn't to show off my bike. Well ok, maybe to show off the custom exhaust we built lol. We're still planning on putting some tips on the exhaust, so it's in the final stages and functional. Here's a list of the customizations done so far (some of which still needs to be put together, but the "invention" of the parts are done): Frame bobbed, lowered, and hard tailed. Hard tailing done not with struts, but by welding the frame to the swing arm, and then those weld covered with angle iron and welded again. Said angle iron being an old brown steel bed frame. Forks and engine were from original bike we got for free. Frame (with a title!) from an identical year/make/model bike purchased from junkyard for dirt cheap. Custom exhaust made from exhausts from both bikes. Took them completely apart and ditched the equalizer which took up waaay too much room under the bike. Then we used 2 straight pieces and 4 adapters bought from AutoZone to connect the stock pipes that we rearranged to make what you see and hear in the video. Electronics that were in area covered by side cover moved to underneath seat, bolted to 2 rails which are welded to frame under seat. These rails are, yet again, old brown steel bed frame. Shifter and brake linkage fabricated with various brake parts, threaded rod and foot peg mounts. Handlebar ...

For my own particular situation the shift cable housing separated from the mounting ring. This took some time to diagnose since the shift cable -- which is connected to the forward and back movement of the stick -- continued to operate as one would expect. Under the hood, I examined the 'control tower' and found the selector cable appeared to be seized. After taking to a mechanic, he informed the shift cable arm (on the control tower) must be in a vertical orientation to enable the selector cable to move the selector cable arm. When the first is vertical, the second can move as intended. The control tower housing is on top of the transmission. It is a silver colored metal component with the gear selection emblem embossed on it in reverse order and arms off the back (toward the cab) where the cables connect. Mine was covered in grime and difficult to see -- it's also slightly nested under the battery. The control tower is what selects your gear in the transmission. If your ability to shift between gears came on suddenly, I suspect your linkage (ie shift and selector cables) are to blame. That was my own scenario. If it turns out your situation is the same as my own bear in mind you must replace the shift and selector cables as a pair since they are surrounded by a rubber gasket that attaches to the floor of the car. In my reviews of available parts, the local parts stores (O'Reilly, Autozone, etc.) sell inferior cables that have been reported to kink. The mechanic I ...

This will show you how easy it is to change out your o2 sensors in your vehicles. Just go to Autozone. They can run a free computer dignostics check. they will tell you what the problem is. Buy the part from them and you are good to go. You will need a special oxygen sensor socket. You can buy it at autozone. Or at Harbor freights (cheaper). (in my case the socket just would not work. i had to use a old fashion wrench) Turn the vehicle on for about 5 minutes. Let the exhaust get nice and hot. Spray some wd-40 on the oxygen sensor fitting. let it set for a minute or so and start working it loose. Repeat the process for stubborn oxygen sensors. once removed. attach the wires. disconnect the battery for about 5 to 10 minutes. this should void your check engine light. Oxygen sensors are important. they help with your gas mileage. The goal of the sensor is to help the engine run as efficiently as possible and also to produce as few emissions as possible.
