If you have ever had your mechanic give your car a tune up, you know it is not cheap. Most population who are not mechanics themselves assume they have no choice but to pay somebody else to do it. Not true! A do it yourself car tune up is something every singular car owner should know how to do just because it makes you more independent...but it also can save you money.
There are some things you plainly can't do yourself, like check the complicated electronic sensors in today's developed engines. You're stuck paying your mechanic to do that. But you can keep your car humming along yourself without paying through the nose. Here are seven easy things every car owner should know how to do (yes, even you ladies who don't fancy yourselves grease monkeys). Your car owner's hand-operated will tell you where to find the engine parts you need to touch and tune up.
Autozone Batteries
First, turn your fuel filter. This can improve your gas mileage and prolong the life of your engine. You ought to turn the filter once per year.
The Do it Yourself Car Tune Up
Second, turn your oil filter. Oil lubricates your engine. The oil filter keeps your oil clean so it can do its job well. Replace the filter every time you turn your oil, which will probably be about every 3,000 to 5,000 miles.
Third, turn your own oil. This is one you should know how to do, but that you won't all the time do yourself (disposing of used motor oil is a bit of a pain in the neck, and your mechanic is all set up to do it). You will probably pay -50 to have somebody else do it, and you can do it yourself on most cars. That's a straightforward way to save money.
Fourth, replenish your fluids. That includes the windshield washer fluid and your motor oil. Learn how to check your own oil with the dipstick. There's no excuse for not knowing how to do that on your own. Why pay somebody for an hour of labor just to do something you can do yourself in about three minutes while you're filling up your gas tank?
Fifth, check your belts. You should let your mechanic cope the timing belt, but if others are worn, you can turn them yourself.
Sixth, aid your own battery. You might need to add distilled water (your owner's hand-operated should help you know) from time to time. But you can all the time keep the cables clean and check the terminals for corrosion.
Seventh, turn your wiper blades. This one wins the "easy" award. Almost any auto parts store (AutoZone, etc.) will have the right blades for your car, or can get them. Effect the instructions on the box and you will have a clean windshield in all weather, and you'll improve your road safety.
A do it yourself car tune up is not hard, and it is not expensive. You can not do all things yourself (and it is not worth your time if you could), but doing a few wee things can save you a bundle next time you visit your mechanic.

DIY with Mike Stiers www.maxxsonics.com Back to Basics -- Car Audio 101 By Mike Stiers So you've decided to upgrade your car stereo system? A great deal of research and planning should go into this purchase since there is a lot to consider. Do you desire a nice upgrade of your factory speakers, are you looking for a Sound Quality overall of speakers, subwoofers and amplifiers, or are you designing a vision-blurring SPL machine? It is important to make a list of exactly what you are looking to replace or add to your audio system so that you can prepare your electrical system for the investment to come. Many people do not realize that their vehicles' factory electrical system was not designed for aftermarket audio equipment. In fact, most factory electrical systems can only handle an audio system of 600 to 1200 watts. The lower end of the scale being the smaller vehicles and most foreign rides, and the upper end being large trucks and sport utility vehicles. As you increase demand, you need to look at upgrading your battery, alternator and most importantly your "Big 3." ALTERNATORS The alternator powers the vehicle, all components and recharges the battery. A standard factory alternator ranges from 40 amps to 120 amps depending on vehicle. When the alternator is under high demand or the demand exceeds the alternators capability, your voltage will begin to fall and rely on the reserve of the battery. Lets use a 65 amp alternator for example in determining what aftermarket ...

My 1997 Honda Accord will not start? Tube. Duration : 0.33 Mins.
My Honda will not start? While my car had been running it kept making a clicking noise in the front of the car, i could never figure out what it was. So then I was driving down the road and started going up hill so i gave it more gas and all of a sudden it was just revving like i was in neutral. So i pulled it over and first we thought it was the transmission that slipped but then we figured out it must of been the Starter Motor cause whenever i turn the key it seemed as if the Starter Motor wouldn't ignite to make the car start. So we took the Starter Motor out, took it to Autozone, they checked the Starter Motor and they said that the Starter Motor was bad. So we got a new Starter Motor at Autozone and installed it, and the car still does not start. It does the exact same thing as what it did before so i have no clue what is wrong. Something i forgot to mention is that there were three lights that it told me to check. Oil Battery Engine We checked the Oil and the there is oil in the vehicle. But the battery is old, it says it expired in 2010 but i have heard most batteries can last a while? The battery often has corrosion, but it has been cleaned recently. Do i need to clean it again? And after replacing the Starter Motor the Engine light went off? It's either this or spending more money trying to find out what's wrong with my car. Please i need your help, thank you!:)
I went to start my 2006 Mazda 6, and it started clicking and flashing lights on the dashboard as shown in the video. I took the battery to Autozone just to find it is fine. It must be something else. Any ideas?

MACBIKE2:upgraded Video Clips. Duration : 2.03 Mins.
yep its back first thing i did was replaced all tape with zip ties except the tape for the new mp3 i have, and change the tape to electrical for it to look better. after that i cut down the unnecessary amount of of speaker wire and added wire loom to hide the rest of it. added a neon bar that reacts to music and a toggle switch to turn it on and off polished the tires with tire care and put on an add on seat for comfort. all those items except the amp and neon bar you could get at a local walmart. go to a autozone to get a neon bar for a good price get one with a cigarette liter plug in for a car, cut the the cigarette liter part off and add 2 clips one for the positive (red wire) and one for the negative(black/black and red wire) and buy a drill battery and charger to power it and add the clips to the neg. and pos. part of the battery.now the only place i could find this MODEL T PORTABLE AMP is eBay, you also must have pegs get some speakers and drill hole in the side and be carefull not to hit any wire or speaker put the peg threw slap on some wood glue that dries clear and your all set.

Check machine Light, Check machine Soon Light, service machine Soon Light, machine Light, machine administration Light, whatever you want to call it, naturally means that your vehicle's computer principles has detected a problem.

Service machine Soon Light Faq:
Check machine Lights: Myths and Facts
Can the car be driven? The general rule is: if the service machine Soon Light is on, and the car seems to be running ok, you can drive it. However, you should have it checked at your earliest convenience.
If your car is running poorly--bucking, stalling, hesitating, or you just don't feel safe, tow it. When in doubt always tow it!
The check machine light went out by itself. Is it ok now? Probably not. Check machine Lights often come and go. Even if the light is out, your vehicle's computer principles will preserve information that will allow the question to be diagnosed. To avoid inherent long term issues, get it checked out.
My check machine light stays on. What should I do? If your check machine light stays on constantly, ensue the instructions above, under "Can the car be driven?" Don't panic.
Can I disconnect the battery, or pull a fuse to reset the service machine soon light? Maybe, but I wouldn't. Removing the battery cable or an Ecm or Pcm fuse may clear the code, but it is not universally recommended in the industry. Most manufacturers advise against it. See the Best Way to Reset Check machine Light Codes below.
What is the Check machine Light? The Check machine Light is a warning light for many systems operating in your vehicle. In simplest terms, it's like an machine administration warning light to alert you of a problem. Just like your computer pops up with an "error message window" saying that something's wrong, your service machine soon light pops up to warn you that it has detected a malfunction: mechanical, technical, software, or otherwise.
How to Reset Check machine Light? This is a great question! I get it all the time. See the guide below.
Resetting Check machine Light:
First, if your Check machine Light is on, it's on for a reason. The Check machine Light indicates that your vehicle's on-board computers have stored a fault code. There are hundreds of fault codes, any one or more could be stored in the computers memory.
Fault codes include valuable data for accurate diagnoses of the problem.
Sometimes the fault code points directly to a faulty component, allowing for a quick diagnoses and repair. Other times, the code may only indicate a question circuit and thus overall diagnostic procedures may be required.
By resetting the service machine Soon Light, it erases foremost fault code data that turned the check machine light on in the first place. Without this valuable information, the root question can not be discerned.
Unfortunately, there is no universally suitable way to safely turn off a check machine light. Even if there was, if the root question is not addressed, it will come back on.
So either it's a Chevrolet service machine Soon Light, Camry Check machine Light, considerable Max Check machine Light, or a 1993 Thunderbird Check machine Light, they want private procedures to diagnose, repair, and reset the check machine light code.
Following is a Safe and Free way for resetting check machine light codes.
Best Way to Reset Check machine Light Codes:

Here's what to do:
Politely ask your local service center (ask a technician if you see one) if they could reset the check machine light with their Check machine Light Code Reader. They may protest, arguing that the question must first be diagnosed.
Tell the service representative that you understand fully, and that you appreciate his professionalism. But that you would just like to try resetting the service machine Soon Light, and if it comes on again, you'll come back for a full diagnosis.
Be genuine. service representatives riposte legitimately to sincerity. If the service center wants to fee you just to reset your service machine Light, try an additional one facility.

Important, check machine light repairs can be quite precious given their technical nature. service centers can legitimately hide behind complicated technical language to inflate the mystery of your Check machine Light concern.
Check machine Lights: Myths and FactsHonda Pilot Key Battery Replacement (for 2005 Honda Pilot key remote) Tube. Duration : 5.35 Mins.
Replace the battery in your Honda Pilot Key. Note, this is not about how to program your key. It takes 5 minutes to explain how to do it and 2 minutes to actually do it. You don't need to program anything. It took my 2005 Honda Pilot keys about 5 years to finally die. I'd suspect these instructions work equally well for other Honda keys, but I've only done the Pilot key. You need: -A CR1616 battery (about USD at most drug stores) -a size #0 phillips head screwdriver (I bought one at the hardware store for USD. NOTE--don't get a plastic one. Be sure that the area where the head seats in the screwdriver is sturdy and metal if available). And that's it. It takes a modicum of dexterity with the fingers, but otherwise nothing special. Go for it.

Metal Cart Mod (Xhale o2 E-Cig from 7-11) Tube. Duration : 5.05 Mins.
This is my new "metal cart mod" for the Xhale o2 e-cig. I was tired of tasting plastic fumes, so I made my own mod from a tool from Autozone. I took a telescoping magnetic pocket pick-up tool and cut off the end with a hacksaw. I sanded it down and put a screw in the bottom and now I can vape without worrying about sucking on poison gas. The metal cart replaces the little plastic inserts with the tin foil and e-juice--not the entire cartridge.

My lights are pulsing with the engine rpms and my rpms are jumpy. Its been doing it a little and getting worse i think over the past week or so. Went to autozone to test the battery and alt. They said it looked ok and my starter was good. So idk what else would be making it do this.
